Und alle haben geschwiegen

Based on the book documentary “Schläge im Namen des Herrn” (Beatings in the Name of the Lord) by Peter Wensierski, the film deals with the exploitation and abuse of children in church and state homes in post-war West Germany. The cast including such top-class actors as Senta Berger and Matthias Habicht brought the subject to a wide public attention. Besides, the film gave the children of the former state homes the opportunity to question their role as victims. The book was published in 2006 by the Publishing group Random House and SPIEGEL editorial.
